The following savings plans have been designed to help secure your financial future. All depository relationships are, of course, insured up to the applicable limits of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
Regular Savings Account
With an initial minimum deposit of just $50, this account pays the current rate of interest set by First Southern State Bank which is compounded and credited to your account quarterly. There is no monthly charge for balances of $50 or more. A $1 monthly maintenance fee is assessed on balances of less than $50. Up to three withdrawals can be made per month at no charge. Certificates Of Deposit
First Southern State Bank can structure a Certificate of Deposit from seven days to 60 months to fit your individual needs. We offer competitive fixed-rate certificates. For your convenience, certificates may be renewed automatically. Federal Regulations require a penalty for early withdrawal. Individual Retirement Accounts
An IRA is a special savings plan that lets you put aside money you earn today to be used later for your retirement. Depending on your income, your income tax liability on those funds may be deferred. You and your spouse may be able to deposit up to $4,000. Interest earnings are not taxed until withdrawal (penalty for early withdrawal). With your ATM card, available at no charge, enjoy 24-hour access to your First Southern State Bank checking and savings accounts. Your 24-hour ATM card lets you transfer money, make deposits, withdraw funds, make balance inquiries or even make loan payments. Your 24-hour ATM card may be used at any automated teller machine (ATM) worldwide that displays the HONOR or CIRRUS logo.
Direct Deposit
We can automatically deposit your regular social security and retirement checks, military or corporate, directly into your account for your security and convenience.
